KTR vows to pay Rs 10 lakh if shown roads without potholes in BJP-ruled states
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday asked the Union Minister Prakash Javadekar to show a pothole fewer roads in any of the cities in the BJP ruled states and get Rs 10 lakhs from him.
The minister was speaking in the meeting of Telangana Builders Forum here on Monday. The Minister continued his attack on the Union minister on the second day. "The Union minister has said that the city roads were full of potholes and made a comment that he would give Rs 1 lakh if there is no road with potholes. You are talking about Hyderabad... I challenge you... show me a road without potholes in any of the cities in the BJP ruled states, I will give him Rs 10 lakh from my pocket," said Rama Rao, adding it was easy to talk against people who do work.
The TRS leader questioned what the BJP has done for Hyderabad during the last six years. "They have given nothing for Telangana and even to Andhra Pradesh. When the foundation stone was laid for the capital city, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave mud and water," said Rao.
Stating that the voters of the city should come forward to vote as the voting percentage was pathetic in the previous elections. The TRS leader asked the builders fraternity to have discussions before voting as to what the government had done during the last six years.
Stating that no tonic would work now and the city needed a surgery, Rao said that the government would bring a stringent GHMC Act in January or February. He said that the new Act would provide the government, right to demolish the hosues built on the nalas or lakes. He also asked the realtors to be cautious on the constructions in water bodies.
The Real Estate Federation pledged support to the ruling party in the ensuing Greater Hyderabad elections. The minister thanked the gesture by the builders federation.
