KTR warns of strict action against spreading false propaganda on virus
Hyderabad: MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao has stated that strict action would be initiated against all those who try to reap commercial benefits in the name of medical treatment or indulge in false propaganda on the issue.
KTR who is a member of the ministers' panel on Health made these comments in the high-level meeting held to discuss on Covid-19 situation in the State.
He wanted the I & PR department to make effective use of social media and other platforms to create awareness and sensitise public on this issue.
KTR said that big hoardings relating to coronavirus would be kept in GHMC limits and all other municipalities.
Health Minister Eatala Rajender stated that all teaching hospitals (nearly bed strength of 3000) have been instructed to take steps on priority basis to admit coronavirus suspect cases if any reported in the coming days.
This apart we have earmarked 250 beds with ventilator support facilities to admit and treat positive and critical cases, he added.
He further said that nodal officers have been appointed in various departments including MAUD, PR, Education, Police, Tourism departments for regular co-ordination on this issue in coming weeks.
He further said that 104 Helpline would also take calls on this issue from Wednesday in addition to the present dedicated helpline.
