KTR will play pivotal role in speeding up PRRLI project: Srinivas Goud

Mahbubnagar: Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president K T Rama Rao's birthday was celebrated at Shantivanam, the rehabilitation centre for mentally and physically retarded children in Mahbubnagar district headquarters on Tuesday.

Marking the occasion, Excise Minister Dr V Srinivas Goud visited the Shantivanam as chief guest to a programme organised and interacted with the children and enquired with them about the facilities provided at the centre. The Minister later celebrated KTR's birthday by cutting a cake.

Later, the Minister distributed blankets, notebooks and wheelchairs to the physically- handicapped students at the centre. "KTR has urged not to celebrate his birthday on a grand note. As per his request, we are celebrating his birthday with a service motive and have decided to spend time at Shantivanam and cut a cake to celebrate his birthday with the children," said the Minister, while sharing his thoughts.

Goud further said that KTR is striving for the all-round development of Telangana and improvement in livelihood of all sections of people in the State. The Minister informed that very soon KTR was going to play a key role in speeding up the construction of Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift Irrigation Project (PRRLI) and hoped that once this project was completed, the entire erstwhile Mahbubnagar district would be converted into a green belt and boost the agriculture and allied sectors and increase employment and improve economic condition of people in the district.

Red Cross Society chairman Nataraj, TRS Mahbubnagar district president Koramoni Venkataiah, party leaders Cherukupally Rajesh, KC Narasimhulu, Narasimulu Yadav, Purushottam and others took part in the programme.
