Last Ride Service rolls out in Cyberabad

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar on Sunday flagged off an ambulance service 'Last Ride Service.

Feed the Needy team members who launched the service said that they decided to start the service for the deceased Covid 19 or non-Covid 19 cases. They would take care of the funeral as well if the family members of the victims are not available

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar on Sunday flagged off an ambulance service 'Last Ride Service.' DCP (Traffic) S M Vijay Kumar was also present on the occasion. The CP said that during an incident, their team learnt how difficult it was to have cremation for a Covid 19 patient who expired in a private hospital in the absence of his family members, who were under home quarantine.

He said that there was nobody to cremate the dead body and added that they also found it difficult to arrange an ambulance to carry the dead body and a cremation ground which would allow the cremation of Covid patient. He said that very few cremation grounds were allowing the cremation of the Covid patients in the city. The ambulance was started by 'Feed the Needy' team members.

They said that they decided to start the ambulance service for the deceased Covid 19 or non-Covid 19 cases. They would take care of the funeral as well if the family members of the victims were not available. They said that their service would serve all communities irrespective of caste, creed and religions. They said that they had launched the service as a pilot project in Cyberabad limits.
