LB Nagar: Covid awareness camp held for traffic cops
LB Nagar: In view of prevailing Coronavirus pandemic, and rising hearing and respiratory issues among the traffic personnel, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat organised a medical camp by Dr Mushtafa Afzal Consultant Clinical Microbiologist and a team of Ashray Akruthi director DPK Bapu at Traffic Training Institute on Tuesday.
About 200 traffic police personnel attended the camp wherein Dr Mushtafa Afzal elaborately described about the Coronavirus along with the precautions to be taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
Dr DPK Babu and team of Ashray Akruthi conducted test of hearing and throat to traffic staff after explaining the precautions to be taken to prevent the hearing and respiratory disorders.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that there is high scope for traffic officers and men involved in regulating the traffic to get exposed to infections and pollution in their day-to-day life. To ensure the healthy atmosphere among the men and officers working in traffic unit, washable nose masks manufactured at Cherlapally central prison were being supplied to ensure that traffic staff stay healthy, he said.
The CP also said the programme intends to bring awareness among traffic staff to face the current situation. He advised the traffic personnel to get themselves checked at hospital immediately in case of finding any symptoms of Coronavirus.
The doctors who spoke on the occasion explained the precautions to be taken and advised them to consume more fruits and vegetables to increase their immunity.
DCP-Traffic N Divya Charan Rao appreciated the efforts of Dr DPK Babu and team of Ashray Akruthi for participating in the camp and conveyed a special thanks to Dr Mushtafa Afzal for his elaborate presentation on the virus and measures to be taken to prevent it.
Traffic officials Tajuddin Ahmed, G Manohar other officers of Rachakonda Commissionerate were present on the occasion.
