Light rains in parts of Hyderabad
Light rains continue to lash Hyderabad since Thursday morning making the people stay indoors. With the monsoon continuing to remain active over Telangana, the state is witnessing rainfall for the past few days.
Madhapur has received the highest amount of rainfall on Thursday at 4.8 mm till 12 pm followed by 3.8 mm in Charminar, 3.5 mm each in Asif Nagar and Rajendra Nagar, according to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS).
The officials of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad said that there is a chance of heavy rainfall lashing the state till Sunday in the districts like Adilabad, Nirmal, Komaram-Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar-Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall will occur till Friday in Hyderabad.
The weathermen attributed the reason to the pressure over North-west Bay of Bengal and the regions associated with it such at Northern Andhra and Odisha at 4.5 km to 5.6 km from sea-level.
On Wednesday, several districts received heavy rainfall such as Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Khammam, Mulugu and Warangal Rural. Burgampadu in Bhadradri-Kothagudem has received the highest rainfall of 164.1 mm in the last 24 hours.
