Lightning kills two in erstwhile Nalgonda
Nalgonda/Bhongir: Untimely rains with gales have created havoc in erstwhile Nalgonda district on Wednesday.
A woman Chennaboina Rani (29) died due to lightning strike at IKP paddy procurement centre at Munikuntla village of Kattangur mandal in Nalgonda district.
She was a native of Kurumarthy village in the mandal. Similarly, a toddy tapper Yerukala Sataiah (40) died due to lightning strike while he was climbing a palm tree at Battupally village of Gundala mandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district.
In Allamdevi Cheruvu village of Yadadri-Bhongir district, a person suffered injuries after he fell from a tree during the rains. Similarly, several poultry farms in the village incurred losses due to sudden rains.
Paddy farmers were the worst hit as heaps of paddy shifted to IKP centres and agriculture markets was soaked in rain water due to lack of availability of covers.
