Loan app harassment: Techie approach police for help in Jangaon

Days after the suicide of two people due to the harassment of the loan app executives, another techie approached the police on Saturday complaining about the harassment by app-based private financiers.

The 23-year-old techie from Gondlagadda in Jangaon claimed that he was getting abusive telephone calls from the executives repeatedly and was getting harassed. The techie who had taken a loan from a loan app told the police that though he had repaid the loan, the financiers are harassing him to pay more.

Jangaon CI D Mallesh said that the loan app executives are harassing the people by demanding to pay three or four times more of the amount taken as loan and many similar complaints are being filed. He said that techie from Jangaon had taken a small amount as loan from the app and to repay it he borrowed the money from 15 different apps.

Earlier this week, an agriculture officer from Siddipet and a techie from Rajendranagar committed suicide after harassment from the app executives.
