Loco pilots hunger strike concludes in Mancherial

Mancherial: Protesting the government's move to privatise the Indian railways, the one-day hunger strike of All India Loco Running Staff Association Bellampalli unit was concluded here on Tuesday.

Following the call of All India Loco Pilot Association, Bellampalli unit leaders staged a 24-hour hunger strike from Monday (June 15) to Tuesday at Bellampalli railway station in Mancherial district.

They also sought revision of the mileage rate for the running staff in accordance with RAC 1980 formula. The other demands included rectification of the difference in pension of loco pilots, who had retired before and after January, scraping off the new pension schemes NPS, and revival of the old pension scheme, implementation of the safety measures for passenger s and staff.
