Mahbubnagar: MPP awarded honorary Doctorate
Mahbubnagar: Bhootpur Mandal Parishad president (MPP) Kadire Shekar has been awarded with an honorary 'Doctorate Degree' by Global Human Peace University, in Chennai, for his immense good work in Social service on Saturday.
It can be reminded here; Kadire Shekar Reddy has earlier taken the tough challenge of bringing Krishna River water to his native village of Maddigatla, which he promised to the people of his village during the elections.
The MPP, had worked hard day-in and day-out for 3 months and convinced the then Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and got sanctioned the sub-canal from the main Kalwakurthy Lift Irrigation Canal at Manganoor village which is 9 kilometres away and taken tough efforts of acquiring land from the farmers and succeeded in digging the sub-canal for over 9 kilometres during the past two year.
"I am really honoured as my work has been recognised and I thank the authorities of Global Human Peace University, for awarding me with a honorary 'Doctorate' in the category of Social service. With this my responsibility has further increased and shall do more for the social cause and uplift of the poor in the village," said the MPP.
In fact, Mr. Reddy had spent more than 70 lakhs from his own packets to pay towards the land acquisition for the farmers who were hesitating to give land as they feared delayed compensation from the government. As the MPP was determined and wanted at any cost to complete the sub-canal he spent money from his own pocket and succeeded in completion of the canal and could succeed in filling up Maddikhan Lake in the village with Krishna waters.
"Today am the most satisfied person. I am happy that more than 10 villagers are benefiting under this project. More than 15,000 acres of land is being irrigated and the farmers will now get employment in their own village and there is no need for them to migrate to other cities for work," observed the MPP.
Not just succeeded in completing the irrigation sub-canal for the Maddigatla village, but the MPP also donated Rs. 5 lakhs every year for the books and other necessary study material for the government school children.
Recognising his social work, the Global Human Peace University had honoured the MPP with Honorary doctorate. The MPP, along with large number of TRS activists visited Chennai and took part in the award ceremony. The MPP received honorary award 'Doctorate certificate' from Dr. Pratab Singh Tiwari, Vice Chancellor of Global Human Peace University. TRS activists felicitated the MPP on the occasion.
