Mahbubnagar: RTC strike continues, protests, rallies mark the day

Mahbubnagar: The RTC employees strike continued in erstwhile Mahbubnagar with protests, road blockades and relay hunger strikes in various parts of Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Narayanpet, Wanaparthy and Gadwal districts on Wednesday.

In Gadwal district, the RTC employees sat on a relay hunger strike and the later took part in a rally by wearing flowers in their ears. They said this unique protest was against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's statements that are causing problems to the public by not addressing the RTC employees' just demands.

In Achampet mandal, the RTC employees along with various other allied associations and opposition party members staged a protest at the depot and later took part in a rally and raised slogans against the Chief Minister and the TRS government's adamant attitude towards the staff.

In Mahbubnagar, the RTC employees continued their protest and tried to stop the buses. However, the police and the Road Transport Authority officials provided security to the buses and allowed the services to continue.

Overall, the RTC employees protest on the fifth day also saw with protests, dharnas and rallies, while public continued to face the hardships due to non-availability of proper transportation.
