Mahbubnagar stands next to GHMC in implementing e-office system
Mahbubnagar: By implementing e-office system for the past three years from 2017, Mahbubnagar has emerged as the first district, after GHMC, to have adopted paperless e-office governance system in the State.
Thanks to District Collector S Venkat Rao, under whose guidance the district administration had taken early initiatives to implement e-governance system in the district. Officials right from village, mandal and district-level are working on e-governance system and conducting all official file management and files processing through online using e-governance system in the district.
With this system, transparency, accountability and responsibility was developed among the staff and the entire official files were done without using paper, which led to speedy movement of files. Also, decisions were taken immediately without causing delay.
Collector Venkat Rao said that he was glad to inform that Mahbubnagar district stands next only to GHMC in the State in implementing e-office systems at all levels. The district stood as an example to other districts in the implementation of technology. Adapting e-office system has not only reduced corruption and increased accountability and transparency, but the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes and development programmes are getting benefits faster, he added.
The officials are introducing e-office system at division level offices like agriculture department and tahsildar offices at mandal level. E-office system will be introduced in all government offices right from village level by December 29. "As of now as many as 900 active consumers are utilising the benefits of e-office system. We have created about 28,520 files and 56,114 receipts in e-office system. For this achievement, we have also received 'Gems of Digital Telangana' State level Award in 2017 and Scotch Order of Merit Silver Award' in 2018 and in 2019, we could achieve 3rd Digital Transformation Summit and Award," Collector Venkat Rao informed.
For ensuring 100 per cent implementation of e-office system, the staff concerned were given training twice. Overall, 300 training programmes were conducted for the staff and this is the main reason for Mahbubnagar to emerge as the lead district in the implementation of e-office system. Not only this district, but the newly carved districts like Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Nagarkurnool also stood well in the implementation of e-office system.
