Mahbubnagar: Temples, dargahs to be shifted to other places says Minister Srinivas Goud

Mahbubnagar: After deciding to remove temples and dargahs coming in the way of road widening works, Excise and Prohibition Minister Srinivas Goud along with District Collector S Venkat Rao and Superintendent of Police Rema Rajeshwari discussed the issue of shifting temples and dargahs at a meeting with religions leaders here on Tuesday.

85% of works four and double road works connecting Jadcherla to Mahbubnagar were completed and works halted at some placed due to temples and dargahs established in the middle of the road.

Speaking at the meeting, the Excise Minister said infrastructure development and public welfare, especially roads and drains, are the major priorities of the government.

Road widening in urban areas has become a tough task, as it is involving complex issues like demolition of houses, shops and shifting of temples and dargahs.

The government had decided to set up a coordination committee comprising of all religious leaders in the district and discussed how to shift temples and dargahs that are coming in the way of road widening.

Based on their recommendations and suggestions, these religious constructions will be shifted to other areas in an amicable and peaceful way, he said.

Minister Srinivas Goud said a final decision will be taken after a thorough discussion with the religious leaders and taking into considerations their suggestions.
