Mahbubnagar: Announcing that Mahbubnagar district is going to gain in a big way with the new agricultural reforms, Excise and Prohibition

Minister Srinivas Goud said the State government is planning to set up large scale Food Park over an extent of 1000 acres in the district.

While speaking at a meeting to explain about the State government's new Agriculture Action Plan for the upcoming rainy season for the farmers and initiatives to bring in more regulatory reforms in the agriculture sector across the State, the Minister said the TRS government has embarked on implementing agriculture reforms strictly so as to make sure that the farmers gain the maximum and do away with losses that they have been witnessing during the past many years.

The Minister said the government has given highest priority for the welfare of the farmers and the farming sector across the State and as part of this, revelatory reforms like providing 24-hour free power to the agriculture sector, providing subsidised seeds and fertilisers and procuring agriculture produce at minimum support price have been initiated for the six years. This apart, farmer welfare schemes like Rythu Bhandu and Rythu Bima were implemented. Now to make the farmers financially strong, the government has brought in regulatory farming reforms, which will further strengthen the farming community. As per the new farming reforms, Mahbubnagar district is divided into 88 crop clusters and the farmers in these

clusters are advised to sow only those crops that are suitable to the land and environmental conditions and at the same time give them productive yields, he explained.

The Minister advised the farmers not to go for same crops and urged them to sow multiple crops so that they can gain better profits. Very soon a large scale food park special economic zone in and around Mahbubnagar is going to be set up by the government where in it will have rice mills, pulses mills, oil mills, cold storages and large scale ware houses to stock food grains. In addition to this large number of food processing units will also be constructed in the Food Park SEZ, he added.

The Minister promised to construct 'Rythu Samanvaya Bhavan' in each cluster, where the farmers could meet and coordinate with the local primary agriculture cooperative committees to resolve their problems at village, mandal and cluster level in the district. Minister Srinivas Goud also advised the farmers to opt for horticulture crops such as fruit, vegetable plantations, which give more yield and better profits than the regular crops.
