Mahbubnagar: Women must excel in all sectors

Mahbubnagar: Sharada, wife of Excise Minister Srinivas Goud said women must excel in all sectors equally on par with men.

While taking part in a programme to mark the International Women's day celebrations on March 8, being orngsised by Telangana Non-Gazetted officers (TNGO) union at TNGOs Bhavan in Mahbubnagar on Saturday, Sharada said that unlike earlier where women were confined to only kitchen today there are many opportunities available for them to excel in all fields.

"Real development of any society depends on the development of its women folks. As we are having many opportunities available in education, employment, industries and science and technology sectors women can excel in any filed and can play a vital role in bringing remarkable developments to the society," said Sharada. She said that the State government of Telangana has brought in many welfare and development schemes for the women folks and striving hard for their upliftment. She said the government had opened many schools for girl children and had brought in stringent laws to curb violence against women in the society. The also urged the people in the society must change their mind set against women and should give them an opportunity to prove themselves. "Today women are exhibiting their skills not just in moulding the lives of their children and family members but they are equally excelling in science and technology and even reached the space doing excellent job for the mankind. Therefore there is nothing a woman can't do on this earth. With determination and will power women can also achieve greater heights on par with men" said Ms Sharada.

Earlier the women folks who took part in various games and cultural activities won prizes were given mementos and were felicitated by the TNGO members.

TNGO Mahbubnagar district president Rajive Reddy, District Chief Secretary Chandra Nayak organised the cultural activities for the women folks.
