Make use of State schemes in Hanamkonda
Hanamkonda (Warangal-U): Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash on Monday urged the community members to make use of welfare programmes initiated by the State government for their upliftment. He was addressing the general body meeting of the district fishermen cooperative societies.
"In a bid to bring remarkable change in the lives of downtrodden fishermen community, the government has been supplying fishlings free of cost. The government ensured fishermen community to reap all the benefits by preventing the role of middlemen," he said.
The government had accorded sanctions for the construction of a community bhavan on the five acres land with an outlay of Rs 5 crore. Its foundation stone will be laid in October, Prakash said. He added that the onus is on fishermen community to protect the tanks in the State, Rajya Sabha member Banda Prakash said. He further said that in all, the government had initiated 38 welfare programmes for the upliftment of fishermen community.
