Making of Talambralu begins in Bhadradri

Bhadrachalam: The process of Talambralu making for the celestial wedding to be held on the day of Srirama Navami, has begun on a traditional note at the Bhadrachalam temple here on Thursday.

The temple on day saw huge rush of devotees ever since the morning hours.

After conducting the Swapanam ritual to the festival idols, the priests conducted Kalasa puja on the temple premises besides performing a special puja in the Chitrakuta Mandapam before preparing Talambralu.

Using turmeric, vermillion, ghee, perfume and other scented powders, the devotees and the wives of rithwiks prepared nearly 30 quintals of Talambralu on the day.

A total of 150 quintals of Talambralu would be prepared by the April first week, informed the officials concerned.

Later in the day, the festive idols of the deities were placed at the Beda Mandapam.

Amid the recitation of Keerthanas of Ramadasu and Tumu Laxmi Narsimhadasu by the temple singers, a special puja was performed to the deities by the priests.

Thousands of devotees witnessed the special Kumbha Harathulu, offered to the deities.

A special puja was also performed as part of Dolotsavam and Vasanthotsavam.

During the ritual, Lord Rama was dressed as a groom. Later, a Thiuruveedhi Seva was organised by the temple as part of the programme.

Executive Officer T Ramesh Babu and other officials attended the programme.
