Man attempts suicide at Prajavaani programme in Mahbubnagar
Mahbubnagar: A man tried to commit suicide by dousing himself in kerosene at the Prajavaani programme at the Mahbubnagar district collectorate on Monday. However, the alert officials and others present there foiled his attempt.
According to sources, Yadaiah had earlier petitioned at Jadcherla Tahsildar office with regard to his two acres of land being illegally taken away by a ruling party leader.
In spite of repeated requests and many representations to authorities concerned, the issue remained unsolved. Yadaiah had even submitted a representation to District Collector at earlier Prajavaani meetings, but in vain.
On Monday, Yadaiah attended the Prajavaani programme with the hope of get some positive response. However, he was dejected with the apathy of officials and doused himself in kerosene to end his life.
The alert officials immediately stopped him and thwarted his attempt. "I am fed up with the officials. They are working for the ruling party leaders, not for the poor. The entire system is corrupted and colluded. So I felt better to die than living facing suppression and injustice," said Yadaiah pouring out his woes.
