Hyderabad: As the city returned to normalcy, the Hyderabad police conducted drunk and drive checks in the city and booked a man in the case. This is the first drunk and drive case registered since the lockdown.

The police have been directed to conduct drunk and drive checks after a goods auto turned turtle at Putlibowli crossroads. The traffic police who noticed the incident conducted the drunk and drive test and found the driver was in drunk state. The traffic police seized the auto and registered a case against the driver.

On learning the incident, ACP Srinivas Reddy ordered the police to intensify the drunk and drive tests across the city.

No drunk and drive case has been registered since the government announced the lockdown following which all the wine shops were closed. Though the wine shops were opened in the state, no person was booked in the case due to the restriction on travel. As the state government eased the lockdown, the city returned to normalcy with all the citizens entering on the roads.
