Man ends life in Nizamabad as his family members test positive along with him
A 63-year-old man committed suicide after learning that three of his family members tested positive for coronavirus along with him. The incident occurred at Nyavanandi village in Sirikonda Mandal of Nizamabad district on Wednesday.
According to the CI Prasad and Mandal medical officer Mohan, Lolam Nadpirajanna (63), his daughter and two daughter-in-laws tested positive after undergoing tests at primary health care (PHC) in the village. All the four were advised to remain in home quarantine.
Nadipirajanna is said to have been depressed about contracting the virus to him and his family members. deVillagers found Nadpirajanna hanging from a tree and alerted the police who in turn informed the health officials.
The police said that they have conducted the last rites at the incident spot. A case has been registered by the police.
In a similar case that occurred on August 3 at Kuchanpally village of Havelighanapur Mandal in Medak district, a 35-year-old man who had tested positive for the coronavirus committed suicide. He was working as a sanitation supervisor in a government hospital in Narsapur Mandal headquarters. His wife also contracted the virus and both are advised to be in home isolation.
The man is said to have been depressed after villagers asked the couple to get admitted in a hospital that led him to take the extreme step.
