Man gets 2-year jail for stalking minor girl
Hyderabad: A local court on Monday awarded a two- year imprisonment to a 29-year-old man who had been stalking and threatening a minor girl. According to Malkajgiri police, the convict K Swamy (29), a resident of Thallabasthi in Kavadiguda, on phone proposed his love to a minor girl.
When the minor girl saw him physically and due to his over age she rejected his proposal. But the convict started stalking and harassing her by making phone calls and forced her to marry him.
He also threatened the minor and her mother with dire consequences. Based on the complaint of the victim, police registered a case under sections 354 D, 506 of IPC, Section 11 (iv) r/w 12 of POCSO Act, 2012 and sent him to judicial custody.
During the trial the MSJ Court at LB Nagar on Monday sentenced the convict for 2 years' imprisonment.
