Man sets wife, brother afire in Shadnagar

In a horrific incident, a man attempted to kills his wife and brother by setting them on fire here at Mondonirayi Thanda of Farukh Nagar mandal in Shadnagar in the wee hours on Thursday.

Getting into details, the accused Gopal took out petrol from his vehicle and doused his wife Sunitha and brother Santosh. He then set them both on fire and fled the spot. Hearing their screams, residents of the hamlet rushed to his house and shifted them to Shadnagar government hospital. However, the victims were later shifted to Osmania General Hospital as they suffered 60 per cent burn injuries.

The Shadnagar police registered a case and launched a hunt to nab Gopal. It is also yet to be identified what had led the accused to take the step. Further details are awaited.

On November 22, 2019 - a 40-year-old man identified as Laxmi Rajam set his wife, Vimala and in-laws on fire at Khammampally village of Siddipet district. Six persons including the wife and child of the accused suffered severe burns.
