Mancherial: CPI's Maha Dharna on July 22
Mancherial: After coming to power, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had forgotten his promise to the people of solving land related issues given before the Assembly elections, criticised CPI district secretary Kalavani Shankar.
Addressing a press meet at CPI office in Mancherial on Thursday, Shankar alleged that the Chief Minister is neglecting the farmers and several mistakes took in land surveys. He demanded the government to stop evacuation of tribals from podu lands and non-tribals from agency with immediate effect; to issue land documents to tribals in agency areas and to non-tribal cultivating in agency
areas; withdrawal of cases filed against farmers; to hold a discussion with Left parties to amend the new laws; to give loan waiver of Rs 1 lakh to all the farmers immediately; and sanctioning of all funds to irrigation projects.
To mount pressure on the government, the CPI will organise a maha dharna in front of the Collectorate on July 22, Shankar informed.
Party leaders Mekala Dasu, J Mallaiah, Mskey Sammaiah, R Laxman, E Lingaiah, District Samiti Member Narsingh, Lingam Ravi, Dr Shankar, AITUC district vice-president Mettapelli Paul, AISF district secretary Sunni Goud, AIYF leader Mogili Laxman, Ragidi Raju, T Komuraiah, Siri Konda Ramu and others were present.
