MANUU documentary selected for International Science Film Festival
Hyderabad: Instructional Media Centre(IMC) of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has achieved one more feat as it's Documentary film 'The Promise of Polydimethylsiloxane' (PDMS), a film on polymer has been selected for International Science Film Festival (ISFF) of India which is going to be organized in Kolkata next month.
According to Rizwan Ahmad, Director, Centre, this is the 3rd consecutive time when IMC productions have been recognized and selected for the film festivals. Earlier IMC films were selected and screened in 9th National Science Film Festival, Chandigarh and Global Cinema fest at Siliguri. Films were widely praised by jury and audience in the festival for their language and the subjects of the short films, he said.
International Science Film Festival of India is a mega event to promote the science and technology by the Vigyan Prasar, Ministry of Science of Technology Govt. of India in association with Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and CSIR. The three-day mega event will be held at Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata from 6 - 8 November. Festival encompasses film screenings, interactive sessions, the symposium on science films and many other activities.
Rizwan Ahmad while sharing the joyous moment said that this is a very proud moment for MANUU and also congratulated Obaidullah Raihan, Camera Person, IMC, who has directed the documentary.
Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Vice-Chancellor congratulated Rizwan & his team for this achievement and reiterated that Media Centre through its continuous efforts is playing an important role in showcasing the relevance of Urdu language in the contemporary era, time and again.
