Many TRS netas rivet eyes on 2 Council seats

Update: 2019-07-12 01:14 IST

Hyderabad: With two more Council seats getting vacant by virtue of court, there is a discussion within the TRS party on who would be getting a chance to enter the upper House.

The High Court had stamped the decision of the Council Chairman to disqualify Ramulu Naik and K Yadava Reddy.

There is a discussion within the party as to who would be the two leaders who would be getting a chance to get the Council entry.

According to sources there are many leaders who feel that they would get a chance this time. The party leaders have been lobbying for the post because these two seats are easy grabs.

While Ramulu Naik was MLC under Governor's quota, Yadava Reddy was elected by members of Legislative Assembly.

Another member R Bhupathi Reddy has been facing disqualification charges and sources said the court is likely to give clarity on this soon. Bhupathi Reddy was elected under the Nizamabad Local Authorities constituency.

The party leaders feel that State Rythu Samanvaya Samithi chief Gutha Sukhender Reddy would get the council seat this time. Earlier, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to send Sukhender Reddy from Nalgonda Local Authorities Constituency.

But, the Samithi chief wanted to get elected under MLA quota. However, recently Naveen Rao was sent to the Council seat under MLA quota hence the party leaders feel that Reddy would get priority this time.

Apart from Sukhender Reddy, the names of K R Suresh Reddy, T Ravinder, Dande Vithal, and Basvaraj Saraiah are also doing rounds.

Earlier, when three seats were vacant under the LACs, the party sent P Mahender Reddy, P Srinivas Reddy and T Chinnapa Reddy to the council from Rangareddy, Warangal and Nalgonda respectively.

With four leaders from upper caste communities like Reddy and Velama getting a chance, the party leaders feel that this time leaders from the weaker section would be getting opportunity to enter into Council.
