Mattapally (Suryapet): The Krishna waters have once again inundated the Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple of Mattapally in Suryapet district as the water leaked from the bund constructed to protect the temple from waters.
On Friday, water to the level of 5 feet entered the temple. With this the devotees had to face problems in having the darshan of the Lord in the sanctum sanctorum.
Temple chairman Chennuri Mattapally Rao and Executive Officer Udaya Bhaskar informed that the temple staff were regularly draining out the waters with the help of motors. However, they ware unable to drain the water during the power outage that lasts for over five hours.
Stating that there was no problem with regard to carrying out regular pujas in the temple, they added they would soon inform the government about the need for having a power generator for the uninterrupted functioning of motors in the time of emergency.
