Measures to provide infrastructure in libraries in Nirmal

Nirmal: District Library Chairman Erram Rajendar said measures have been taken to provide infrastructure in libraries across the district. Addressing a general body meeting at the district library in Nirmal on Friday, he informed that a compound wall with an estimation of Rs 13.50 lakhs will be constructed for the central library. Also, toilets repairs and electricity wiring works will be taken up.

Repairing works of libraries in Sarangapur and Lokeshwaram mandals with an estimation of Rs 2 lakhs will be taken up and books will be purchased with about Rs 15 lakhs, he said. A RO water plant will be installed at the Central Library with about Rs 2 lakhs to provide drinking facility, he said.

Staff salaries, telephone, building repairs, rent, newspaper expenditures, furniture, books purchase and other works for the financial year of 2019-2020 with an estimation of Rs 15.69 crores has been approved by the members in the meeting.

Library secretary PL Rajyalakshmi, DEO Pranitha, DPRO Abdul Kaleem, DPO, staff and others were present in the meeting.
