Medaram: Sammakka-Saralamma jatara 64 hundis account 1.5 crore

Warangal: Amid tight security, the counting of Sammakka-Saralamma jatara hundis has begun at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Kalyana Mandapam here on Wednesday. It may be mentioned here that authorities shifted 494 hundis from Medaram to Hanamkonda a couple of days ago.

In all 300 persons, including the personnel of the Endowments Department and volunteers were taking part in the counting, according to the officials of the Endowments Department. It will take one week to complete the counting, they said. The officials said that the rain that lashed on the last day of the jatara drenched currency notes in the hundis. Meanwhile, an official released said that hundi collection was Rs 1.5 crore after the counting of 64 hundis on Wednesday.
