Met warns of heavy rains today
Siddipet: The Southwest Monsoon turned active across Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday, with heavy rain occurring in three districts, as a low pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and the adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal.under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over northern parts of WB and its neighbourhood.
More rain is likely as a fresh low pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay and its neighbourhood around July 31. The Met department bulletin said rain occurred at most places in the State, including districts of Siddipet, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Ranga Reddy, Sangareddy and Vikarabad.
The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Bejjanki (Siddipet) 6, Medak 5, Papannapet (Medak), Hakimpet IAF Station (Medchal-Malkajgiri), Mirdoddi, Dubbak (both Siddipet), Ramayampet, Chegunta (botht Medak) 3 each, Nangnoor, Doultabad, Gajwel (all Siddipet), Dindigul (M-Malkajgiri), Saroornagar, Hayathnagar (both Ranga Reddy), (Ranga Reddy), Shamirpet, Medchal (both M- Malkajgiri), Nanganur (Siddipet), Sadasivpet (Sangareddy) 2 each.
