Metro to chug into Hitec City by next week
With the final clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS), the metro is expected to chug on the Ameerpet-Hitec City stretch by next week.
However, as the election code is in place in view of Lok Sabha elections, the L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (LTMRHL) is learned to have decided to approach the ECI to begin the metro operations. If it gets a green signal, the officials would then approach the Chief Minister's office to fix a date.
The stretch has around eight stations -- Madhura Nagar, Yousufguda, Road Number 5, Jubilee Hills, Jubilee Hills check post, Peddamma Temple, Madhapur, Durgam Cheruvu, Hitec City and Shilparamam. With the inauguration of the route, the HMR is said to be having passengers' operations in three corridors.
Once the services begin, it brings a huge relief to the passengers from the traffic snarls.
