MGNREGS a boon to daily wagers

Vikarabad: The Union government has launched an Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) with an objective of containing migration along with providing jobs in the rural areas. In addition, it has raised wages with the goal of making them financially beneficial. In 2018, a minimum wage of Rs 205 was paid to the labourers. Now, in 2019-20 it has been increased by Rs 6-a-day. Now, the minimum wage salary is at Rs 211. with this, 4,29,787 lakh workers will be benefited in the district.

In terms of employment work allotted to daily wagers, in 2018-19, the average salary for the labourers was only Rs 158. The goal is to provide at least one hundred working days per year to a family registered in a job card. A minimum of one hundred working days will be provided for those with more than three members of the family. There are more families with two members. The government has decided to give them at least 40 days of work to do justice to them.

A nursery was set up for the Panchayat as part of Haritha Haram. The average wage for the workforce in these works is expected to increase as the agricultural work is completed. The number of people coming for employment is also increasing day by day. The officers who have already identified the tasks that have already taken place allotting the works to the needy.

The increased wage will be effective from April. The Rural Development Authority did not make any official announcement because the electoral code of conduct is in force. Last year, the average wage was Rs128. This year officials set up nurseries in panchayats. It is estimated that an increase in the average wage for laboruers by doing these.
