Mineral welfare funds to be spent on priority-based works: Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy in Nirmal
Nirmal: Mineral welfare funds should be expended on priority sectors and the works of tenders resolved by the committee should be completed by June 2020, stated Forest and Environment Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy.
He attended the District Mineral Foundation Committee meeting at the Collector's conference hall in Nirmal on Tuesday. The Minister said that mineral welfare funds should be spent on every important work in three constituencies in the district.
There is a deposit of about Rs 3.44 crore mineral development funds and the committee has passed a resolution that these funds will be spent for the development and welfare of mining-effected areas, national highways, additional school buildings, compound wall constructions, to provide drinking water facility, white wash for SC and BC residential schools and hostels, white wash for primary health centres, to provide facilities in Anganwadi centres, for Balasadan, old age homes and other purposes. 18 national highway works with an estimation cost of Rs 21.27 crores has been approved.
District Collector M Prashanthi said that 17 quarries were given on lease in the district and from the lease from 2015 to 2019, Rs 3,44,57000 funds have been saved and these funds will be spend in three constituencies for development.
ZP Chairperson Vijaya Lakshmi, Mudhole MLA Vittal Reddy, FACS Chairman Ram Kishan Reddy and others were present at the meeting.
