Minister distributes clay Ganesh idols in Suryapet

Suryapet: Education Minister Jagadish Reddy stated that people must opt for eco-friendly clay Ganesh idols instead of chemical colours coated Plaster of Paris idols for better environment.

The Minister launched free clay Ganesh idols distribution, organised by local municipality and BC welfare department at a programme held in Suryapet town on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he advised people to set up clay Ganesh idols for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations and urged the people to extend their cooperation to avoid contamination of water bodies by avoiding chemical coated plaster of Paris Ganesh idols.

He said that on behalf of the government and Suryapet municipality, as many as 100 clay Ganesh idols of 5 feet and 3,000 small clay Ganesh idols have been distributing in Suryapet constituency to start clay Ganesh movement in the district.

Collector Amoy Kumar, MP Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, Tungaturthy MLA Gadari Kishore Kumar, ZP vice chairman G Venkatnaryan Goud, District library chairman N Srinivas Goud and locals also participated.
