Minister Eatala Rajender focuses on strengthening PHCs
Hyderabad: Health Minister Eatala Rajender wanted health officials to map patients visiting hospitals and health centres according to their ailments and diseases.
This initiative, he felt, would give an idea of diseases prevalent in that district and accordingly doctors' appointments could be made and also required medicine stocks could be made available.
Rajender has shifted his focus on strengthening the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the State. For this purpose, he held a meeting with Director (Public Health) and programming officers of various districts on Tuesday.
He sought views from the field officials on effective functioning of sub-centres and PHCs.
The minister instructed the district officials to ensure doctors and medical staff in all PHCs discharge duties from 9 am to 4 pm without fail.
He wanted district health authorities to sensitise and create awareness in public on use of medicines.
