Minister Gangula Kamalakar assures MSP for grains
Hyderabad: Gangula Kamalakar assumed charge as Minister for Civil Supplies and BC Welfare here on Thursday at BC Commission Bhavan. He said each and every grain harvested by the farmers in the State will be bought for Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Kamalakar speaking to media asserted that the foresight of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao even barren lands are now cultivable due to the schemes which were initiated by the Chief Minister such as irrigation projects, 24-hour power supply and Rythu Bandhu.
These schemes have eventuated cultivation percentage to increase in the State and made records in buying grains in the Kharif season.
In the previous year, Civil Supplies department has bought 40 lakh metric tonnes of grains and this year department is pitching to make it 55 lakh metric tonnes, he added.
The Minister also thanked Chief Minster for trusting him and giving such honourable position in the State government. Finance Minister T Harish Rao has congratulated Kamalakar for taking charge as minister.
