Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Collector RV Karnan inspect sanitation in Khammam town
Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar along with District Collector RV Karnan, Joint Collector Anurag Jayanthi and others inspected sanitation in Khammam town on Thursday early hours. On bicycles, the Minister and officials visited the streets of Kanpa Bazaar, Church Compound, Srinivas Nagar, Prakash Nagar, Bose Bomma Centre, Mirchi Market Road, Ravi Chettu Bazaar and Station Roads and took stock of sanitation. During the visit, the Minister interacted with the municipal staff and the residents.
Speaking to the media later, the Minister informed the Corporation was shifting over five tonnes of garbage to the dumping yard every day. Stating that cleaning the town and maintaining sanitation was possible only through coordinated efforts between the citizens and the municipal authorities, Puvvada informed that the TRS government was giving required funds for the municipality. Directing the officials to provide safe drinking water, the Minister added that he would visit all wards in the municipalities and observe the development works in the coming up days.
He said as part of making Khammam a model city, the development of roads and works of central lighting were going on at a brisk pace. He asked the municipal staff to complete to carry out the cleaning works in the town before 7 am every day. He ordered the engineering staff of Municipal department examine roads and carry out the repairs wherever needed.
Corporation Mayor Dr Papalal, Deputy Mayor B Murali Prasad, Corporators K Murali and P Neeraja, Deputy Engineer (Municipality) Ranga Rao, Srinivas and others accompanied the Minister.
