Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy assures to solve teachers woes

Hyderabad: State Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy assured representatives of the teachers' associations that she will discuss their problems.

The minister's assurance came when leaders of the United Teachers' Struggle Committee met her here on Thursday and congratulated her on assuming charge as the education minister.

Briefing the minister the leaders submitted a representation listing out various issues plaguing the school education in the State.

They asked the minister to resolve the pending issue of promotions, inter-district transfers, transfers in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) etc.

Responding positively, the minister assured to hold a meeting with the officials of the education department and the teachers' associations after the completion of the ongoing budget session.

The minister stressed on making united efforts to resolve the issues to strengthen the government schools in the State and sought the cooperation of the teachers' associations.

USPC state steering committee leaders Chava Ravi (UTF), Y. Ashok Kumar, M. Ravindar (TPTF), Raghu Shanker Reddy, Lingareddy (DTF), Pochaiah (STF), Ahmed Pasha(TSPTA), Shaga Kailasam, Ch Ramesh (TSCSTUS) and S Mahesh (TSMSTF) among those who met the minister.
