Ministers urge people to make Khammam plastic-free

Khammam: Everyone should strive to propagating the values taught by Mahatma Gandhi, stated the Ministers on Wednesday. Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod took part in the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi in Khammam town and garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. They paid tributes and recalled the services of the Father of the Nation to the country and its people.

Speaking on the occasion, the trio Ministers urged the people to support the ban of single use plastics and make the town plastic-free. Later, they inaugurated plastic bottle crushing unit. They suggested the people to use cloth bags or paper bags in their daily lives.

Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao, Zilla Parishad Chairman L Kamal Raju, Mayor Dr Papalal, MLC Balasani Laxmi Narayana, Seed Development Chairman K Koteswara Rao, District Collector RV Karnan, Trainee Collector Adarsh Surabhi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Priyanka, and TRS party leaders attended the programme.
