Mission Bhagiratha water fails to reach colonies
Parigi: While the residents of the town are facing severe drinking water problems, the government's prestigious Mission Bhagiratha water is going down the drain.
Water scarcity began in the mandal even before summer arrived with residents of Nazeerabad Tanda walking miles for potable water.
Residents of several colonies in the town are purchasing water tankers to fill their tanks.
Mission Bhagiratha has failed to quench thirst of the people in the mandal.
A few colony residents complained that they were failing to receive water as pipes broken after pits were dug on Bijapur highway road.
The locals said that the officials concerned were turning a blind eye to their problems, but they were collecting taxes without fail.
Locals are appealing to the officials to take measures to resolve their issues at the earliest.
