MLC election passes off peacefully

Khammam: Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teachers' constituency MLC election ended peacefully.

As many as 24 polling centres were set up in Khammam district. Unlike the Assembly elections, voting was done by ballot system.

The polling started at 8 O Clock in the morning and ended at 4 pm in the evening.

Among the 20,851 people who had voting right in the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teachers constituency, 3634 voters belongs to Khammam district.

Officials informed that 79.8 per cent voters cast their votes in Khammam district.

Total of 9 candidates were in the fray. Among them, four candidates are backed by the major teacher unions.

District Collector RV Karnan inspected the arrangements in Rickab Bazaar Government School.

Counting will be done and results will be announced on March 26.
