MLC elections over, counting on March 26
Karimnagar: MLC elections for Karimnagar Graduates and Teachers constituencies held on a smooth note in the district on Friday, stated Election officer and District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.
The Collector cast his vote for Karimnagar Graduate MLC polls at the polling station at Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarfaraz said that tight security arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of MLC elections to prevent untoward incidents.
The voters utilised their voting right in a peaceful atmosphere.
As many as 409 polling stations were established across the district.
Out of which, 220 are general polling stations, 33 for Teachers MLC polls, 63 are Auxiliary polling stations and 93 are for Graduate MLC polls.
In all polling stations 100 per cent of web-casting and videography was done along with deploying micro-observer for each polling station.
Wheel chairs and ramps were arranged for disabled people at polling stations along with providing all the basic facilities.
After polling is completed, the ballot boxes will be stored inside Dr BR Ambedkar Stadium under tight security arrangements where the counting centre is established and the counting of votes that are polled for Karimnagar Graduates and Teachers MLC constituencies will be held on March 26, informed Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed.
