MLC polls: Komatireddy Laxmi files papers
Nalgonda: Congress senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi government has been diluting the local bodies by not sanctioning funds to them. On Tuesday, he participated in party local bodies MLC candidate Komatireddy Laxmi's nomination programme in Nalgonda.
Addressing the media, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy stated that ZPTCs and MPTCs in the State have become festive deities with the State government not provide funds to them, which has further led to stalling of development in villages in the last five years.
Most of the villages in the State have been facing severe water problems and the State government has not given cheque power to Sarpanches even after six months of elections. Stating there was no respect for people's representatives under TRS ruling, he informed that as per the directions of party high command Komatireddy Laxmi was contesting the MLC elections to save the party.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been issuing party tickets to rich and contractors who are no way connected with the party," Komati criticised.
He termed TRS local body MLC candidate from Nalgonda district Tera Chinnappa Reddy a seasonal leader as he disappeared after losing election against his brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy in the previous local body MLC election.
Stating that Congress was an age old party, he informed that party will not become weak by the migration of leaders who enjoyed the posts when party in power and left the party in troubled times.
He exuded confidence that Komatireddy Laxmi will win the MLC seat with a record majority than her husband Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy in previous MLC election.
Party candidate Komatireddy Laxmi urged all local body representatives to support her in the election to teach a fitting lesson to TRS chief who completely ignored local bodies and development of villages in the last five years.
In this programme, party DCC president Shankar Naik, Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, Nalgonda Municipal chairperson Boddupally Laxmi, vice-chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy, party leader Gummala Mohan Reddy, party ZPTCs, MPTCs and councilors participated.
