Modern houses for tribal families of Adilabad
Adilabad: With a view to bring the Adivasis living in remote areas into progressive path, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) is intended to provide modern houses with minimum facilities in the provinces while providing government welfare schemes also.
There are 55,777 people belonging to Kolam and Mannewar of aboriginal tribes are living in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Dharmajipet village, Kaddam mandal; Line Patar village, Utnoor mandal of Asifabad district; and Addagutta village in Adilabad district were in forefront in the implementation of a 100 modern housing scheme, with sewage, internal roads, water and power supply and other facilities.
Rural Development Trust, which constructed modern houses in Mahabubnagar district, will take up the construction here with an estimation of Rs 3 lakh per house. Under Swachh Bharat, individual toilets will be constructed.
Dharmajipet village, where aboriginal Kolam tribes lives, is surrounded by mountains and thick forest and lacks basic amenities. About 100 families are living in the village and there is no pakka house and they live in a hut. Taking inspiration from Chenchu Gudem of Mahbubnagar district, Utnoor ITDA Project Officer Krishna Aditya decided to build modern houses to aboriginal tribes.
speaking to The Hans India, ITDA PO Krishna Aditya said that they are committed to construct modern houses for aboriginal tribes. 'After observing the situation in Mahabubnagar district before and after the construction of pakka houses, our team of delegates want to go ahead with the same inspiration. Rural Development Trust (RDT), a non-governmental organisation committed to the progress of vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in Telangana State, and we have signed a contract with it in the district,' he explained.
The officials are preparing plans for the construction of modern houses in the joint districts, similar to those constructed by RDT for the poor in Kurnool and Anantapur districts, he added.
ITDA PO Krishna Aditya along with ITDA officer Nagesh, Deputy EE Tanaji, Tribal Welfare Officer Parthasarathi and Assistant Project Officer of Primitive Tribal Groups Raj Kumar had inspected modern houses being constructing under RDT at Duddekunta village in Anantapur district.
The village committee will select the beneficiaries. The estimation cost of each house is Rs 1.80 lakhs to Rs 2.20 lakhs and the cost will be further lowered if more beneficiaries come forward. Krishna Aditya said that the RDT will provide resources and the beneficiaries have to bear the construction cost only.
