Modi, Shah & Yogi figure in 40-star campaigners' list
Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah, party MP and film actress Hema Malini and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were among the list of 40-star campaigners for the BJP in the Telangana.
A fortnight ahead of the state going for the 17 Lok Sabha polls on April 11, the BJP announced the list of start campaigners.
In a party communique released on Tuesday, BJP national general secretary Arun Singh, in a letter to the Election Commission, said apart from the PM and party chief, Union Ministers Union Ministers -- Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Suresh Prabhu, Nirmala Sitharaman, Smriti Irani, Purushottam Rupala, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Suresh Prabhu will also be campaigning for the BJP nominees in Telangana.
According to the state BJP leaders, PM Modi will be addressing two public meetings one each at Mahbubnagar and Hyderabad. Similarly, BJP president Amit Shah has agreed to address six public meetings in Telangana. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Nirmala Sitharaman have already visited the state. The schedule of the star campaigners will be announced on Wednesday.
Apart from the Union ministers, former MP chief ministers M Sihvaraj Singh Chouhan and Uma Bharti, party state in charges Aravind Limabvali and PK Krishna Das, national general secretaries Ram Madhav Muralidhar Rao, Ramlal Ji will also participate in various election meetings and roadshows.
Others are Sadhvi Niranjan Jyothi, GVL Narasimha Rao, Swami Paripoornanda, Dr K Laxman, Bandaru Dattatreya, G Kishan Reddy, Raja Singh and Perala Sekhar Rao.
