Monsoon likely to touch Telangana by June 11

The South West Monsoon which is already spread over Andaman and its surrounding areas is likely to touch Telangana by June 10 or 11, according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
The state chief secretary SK Joshi alerted the officials to be prepared for the rains with contingency plans. He said that state-level and district-level control rooms will be set up for coordination and timely action to minimise the loss incur due to rains.
The GHMC officials were also told to improve the drainage system to prevent the water logging on the roads. Meanwhile, the agriculture department was also asked to provide adequate seeds for farmers through the Civil Supplies Department in fair price shops.
