More Basti Dawakhanas opened in Hyderabad

Minister for Municipal Adminstration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao inaugurated two Basti Dawakhanas at Erragadda and Yousufguda here on Friday. Meanwhile, minister Malla Reddy has opened a Basti Dawakhana at KPHB fourth phase and minister Talasani at Monda Market division.

These are among 45 Basti Dawakhanas are being opened across the city today. Of the total 45, 22 are being inaugurated in Hyderabad, 15 in Medchal, 5 in Rangareddy and three in Sangareddy. With the newly opened 45 Dawakhanas, the total number of Basti Dawakhanas in the state touch 168.

The first Basti Dawakhana was launched in the city on April 6, 2018 at BJR Nagar by the minister KT Rama Rao.

With an aim to reduce the medical expenses of the poor, the Telangana government introduced the Basti Dawakhanas in the city so that the poor can able to treat the diseases at an early stage. The clinics which run six days a week from 9 am to 4 pm are being jointly managed by the National Health Mission and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

The building comprises of a waiting hall, an examination room and a pharmacy. Also, a doctor, a nurse and a helper will be there at each Basti Dawakhana.
