MP Potuganti Ramulu, MLA Guvvala Balaraju face RTC employees ire in Nagarkurnool
Nagarkurnool: Nagarkurnool MP Potuganti Ramulu and Achampet MLA Guvvala Balaraju faced the ire of agitating RTC employees at the Ambedkar Chowk in Achampet mandal on Thursday. The RTC workers who have been on the strike for the last 41 days, intercepted the convoy the MP and the MLA's convoy and demanded them to take up their issues with the Chief Minister and get them resolved at the earliest.
The RTC workers said that so far more than 16 RTC workers have lost their lives due to agony caused by the government's insensitive attitude towards the employees' strike. They said that unless the government agrees to meet their demands and merges RTC with the government, they would not stop their strike.
"We have elected you people to take up our issues and problems to the government, but not a single TRS leader is speaking about our woes, what is the use of electing you? We will not budge to the threatening tactics of the government and will go any lengths to get our demands met," said the striking RTC employees.
The MP and MLA tried to pacify the RTC employees and assured to take up the issue with the Chief Minister. "The RTC workers must be patient and should not resort to any kind of violent incidences. We assure you to take your issue to the Chief Minister. Don't' forget it is KCR who had increased the salaries up to 49 percent and given 16 percent fitment. At that time, you all praised KCR. A similar day will come and the RTC employees must be patient till the day arrives," said MP Ramulu. The police, later, dispersed the RTC employees blocking the convey.
