Karimnagar: Telangana State Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) State vice-president Taduri Karunakar demanded the government to solve the issues of RTC employees by fulfilling their justifiable demands immediately.

TUWJ members extended their support to the RTC employees' strike and staged a dharna along with them in front of bus depot-I in Karimnagar on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, T Karunakar alleged that the RTC, which was started during reign of Nizam rulers with just 160 buses, had now developed to render its services to the common public with as many as 10,460 buses with the efforts put up by the RTC employees. The RTC is one of the biggest public service corporation in the world with as many as 8,320 own buses along with 2,140 rented buses and also entered into Guinness Book of World Records, he added.

'KCR announcing that the RTC employees are self-dismissed instead of responding positively to their strike is against the Labour Act. Entire Telangana State is supporting the RTC strike along with Opposition parties and various peoples organisations,' he said.

The government must leave its stubborn behaviour towards the RTC employees and must do justice to them. Otherwise several organisations including common people will stand by RTC employees' side and will teach a fitting lesson to the government, Karunakar warned. The Association members G Srinivas, J Maruthi, G Anjaneyulu, Mahendar, Vijayasimha Rao, Sharath, Chandrashekar, Kiran, Janardhan, Santhosh, Sampath, Imaam, Asaad and Mohasin were present along with others.
