MRPS to organise Maha Deeksha today
Warangal: The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) had supported the TRS led by K Chandrasekhar Rao during the separate statehood movement to protect Telangana from non-locals, now it's time to teach a lesson to those who betray their own land, MRPS founder president Manda Krishna Madiga said, recalling the words of people's poet Kaloji Narayana Rao.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday at the KDC grounds where MRPS has planned to organise a protest christened as 'Maha Deeksha' on Sunday (September 22), he said that his community has never hesitated to represent its problems and aspirations.
Referring to the absence of Madiga community leader in the State Cabinet, he said that it was nothing but a political conspiracy. "Time has come for the community to give a fitting reply to KCR who is hell-bent on suppressing the Madigas, which constitutes 12 per cent of the Telangana population," Manda Krishna said. KCR is underestimating the strength of Madiga community," he added.
The MRPS will not stop its fight against KCR with the Sunday's Maha Deeksha, it will spread the movement to other parts of the State, he said. "The MRPS will bring all the castes irrespective of their social status – OC, BC, SC and ST – who were disregarded by KCR especially in giving political prominence under one roof to launch an offensive against him," Manda Krishna said.
He said that MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao needs to answer how he had got an opportunity to serve as a minister when seniors like Station Ghanpur MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah, Manakondur MLA Rasamayi Balakishan and MLC Kadiyam Srihari have to sit out of the Cabinet. He appealed to people to attend in large numbers to demonstrate their protest against KCR's family rule.
Mahajana Socialist Party national spokesperson T Pradeep Goud, MRPS leaders Velpula Sooranna, Boddu Dayakar, Manda Raju and E Kumar among others were present. Meanwhile, Congress extended its support to the Maha Deeksha protest being organised by the MRPS on Sunday.
TPCC Secretary Meesala Prakash, SC Cell State Committee member Bashupaka Sadanandam, Kuchana Ravinder, Sandela Lazer, Bala Kumar and Kinnera Ravi met Manda Krishna and told him to participate in the protest.
