Nagarjunasagar: Inflows into Sagar continue low-lying areas put on alert
Nagarjunasagar: The heavy inflows into Nagarjunasagar project continued for the second day on Wednesday. According to official information, the Sagar reservoir is receiving 3.57 lakh cusecs from upstream, while it is releasing 3.50 lakh cusecs downstream through its 20 crest gates at 10 feet height.
The present water level in the project is 311.44 tmcft at 589.80 feet as against Full Tank Level of 312 tmcft at 590 feet. Project Superintending Engineer Vijaya Karan Reddy informed that inflows to Sagar might continue for another two days, and in this regard he advised people of low-lying areas to remain alert to meet the emergencies.
The officials are closely monitoring the situation from time to time and taking decisions accordingly, the Superintending Engineer added.
